Dental implants are the nearest tooth replacement to your own natural teeth. They provide an excellent solution if you have missing teeth, about to lose any of your teeth or if you suffer with loose dentures. With dental implants there's no need to compromise - you're replacing missing teeth with permanent teeth that are fixed in place and do not need to be removed.
Single Implants

Single implants can be used to replace individual or several missing teeth to provide a long term and healthy alternative to either a partial denture or a conventional bridge (which usually involves cutting down healthy adjacent teeth).
Single implants usually come in three parts: the actual implant is a titanium screw which is inserted into the bone, an abutment (a kind of peg) which is screwed onto the implant which supports a custom made crown which is either cemented or screwed onto it.Our Implant team co-ordinate to cater for all stages of implant work and work with all major implant systems.

All on 4 is now recognised as one of the greatest advances in dental medicine offering patients a safe, immediate and cost effective way of replacing all their failing or missing teeth with a complete set of new, natural looking permanent teeth.
The All on 4 procedure was developed by implant manufacturer Nobel Biocare and Portuguese implant dentist professor Paulo Malo whose research showed that by using tilted implants (which provide much greater initial stability and connection with the bone) that it was possible to 'immediately load' the implants with a full arch temporary bridge on the same day.A much stronger 'long term' bridge can then fitted 12 weeks later.

Zygomatic implants

Our oral surgeon Mr Richard Moore can provide both zygomatic and pterygoid implants for patients with insufficient bone for conventional implants. When any tooth is lost the supporting bone shrinks away (resorbs) which can be a major issue in the upper palate where bone depth is already limited because of the sinus.

Loose dentures often make eating and speaking difficult and the only way to hold them firmly in place is to use dental implants. Dental implants are made out of titanium and are placed into the jaw bone which grows around them making them very secure. Lower dentures can be a big problem and most patients struggle with them.
