Welcome to Greenaway Green Waste Services, a small family run business situated at Strubby Airfield, close to Alford and Mablethorpe in Lincolnshire. Greenaway operates a licensed composting facility and processes approximately 7000 tons per year. The composting facility was established in 2010 initially to assist in our grounds/garden maintenance business.

Composting has since become our main activity. The compost produced is PAS100 and the Quality Protocol certified and is approved for Organic application by Organic Farmers and Growers. Our compost is used in agriculture and our finest grade is available for domestic and horticultural use.

Greenaway is a recycling facility for segregated green waste arising from the commercial sector and local authorities. Spring is finally here and we are delivering our organic garden compost, quality blended top soil and wood chip. Available in loose loads from 1 tonne upwards. Our compost is produced to PAS 100 certification, this ensures that we are composting to current standards and our product is of the highest quality.

Process

Report

On delivery to the site all green material is sifted through to remove all contaminates. It is then shredded to reduce the particle size which speeds up the breaking down process. The shredded material is formed into a windrow and given a batch number to ensure traceability. We then monitor the temperature and moisture levels and turn the windrow weekly to introduce oxygen.
