River House has been a Hotel / Bed and Breakfast since the 1950's, with parts of the house originally built in 1664. Today we offer 8 en-suite individually decorated bedrooms, with lovely homely touches. Alex and I have over 20 years experience in the hospitality industry. After we first met at catering college in Scarborough, we then went on to work in Chester, and returned to Yorkshire in 1997 to work in the city of York. Airedale House, Sparth House, all names that River House have been over the year, it's been welcoming guest to stay since the 1950s.

When wanting a early breakfast we can do a continental for guests, that is put in your room the night before. We love to use local produce in our menus, using fresh eggs from our own chickens and when our girls can't cope with the demand some are from the farm down the road. Fresh Fruit, local Plain & Fruit Yogurts, choice of Cereals, Fruit Compote, Fresh Melon, & Fruit Juices.

The local area of Malham is a perfect setting for a break in the Yorkshire Dales National Park, both for the keen rambler or those wanting something less strenuous. Within a mile of the village there is Malham Cove a 250ft limestone cliff topped by a unique limestone pavement.
A short stroll from River House you will find Gordale Scar a deep rift in the landscape once painted by "Turner", and Janet's Foss, a enchanting waterfall where local legends abound.River House is centrally located in Malham Village, amidst the stunning dales scenery.
