Services
Tree Risk Assessments
Our tree risk assessments identify structural weaknesses in trees using Quantified Tree Risk Assessment methodology. We evaluate target proximity, failure probability, and impact potential to determine acceptable risk levels for domestic and commercial properties. With BS5837 compliance expertise, we provide legally defensible reports for planning applications and property transactions.
Veteran Tree Management
Specialist care for ancient and veteran trees combines traditional techniques with modern technology. Our VETCERT-qualified arborists implement decay monitoring systems and structural support measures while maintaining ecological value through habitat creation. Bespoke management plans address specific species requirements and historical significance.
Woodland Management
Woodland management plans balance ecological conservation with practical land use requirements. Our survey-driven approach identifies existing biodiversity, creates glades for ecological regeneration, and incorporates responsibly sourced timber into landscape enhancements. We specialise in creating accessible conservation spaces that support local wildlife populations.
Tree Decay Detection
Advanced decay detection employs Picus Tomograph, TreeTronic ERT, and Resistograph technology for precise internal tree analysis. These non-invasive methods produce detailed cross-sectional maps of wood integrity, enabling targeted interventions that preserve tree structure while ensuring public safety through accurate structural assessments.
Habitat Restoration
Habitat restoration projects integrate rewilding principles with structured conservation plans. Our biodiversity enhancement strategies include wildflower meadow creation, invasive species management, and microhabitat design. We develop sustainable management frameworks that support native species populations while maintaining landscape coherence and ecological functionality.

Questions
What is tree risk assessment and why is it important?
Tree risk assessment evaluates potential hazards using Quantified Tree Risk Assessment (QTRA) methodology. We identify structural weaknesses, proximity to targets, and failure probabilities to ensure legal compliance and public safety while preserving tree value.
How do you detect tree decay without damaging the tree?
We use non-invasive technologies including Picus Tomograph, TreeTronic ERT, and Resistograph systems. These tools create internal tree structure maps without causing damage, enabling precise decay identification while maintaining tree integrity.
What areas do you serve for tree consultancy?
While based in Devon, we provide services nationwide with particular focus on Cornwall, Somerset, and Dorset. Our team conducts woodland management projects and tree assessments throughout the UK from our South Brent headquarters.
What is VETCERT qualification for tree specialists?
VETCERT is a specialist qualification for veteran tree management. Our qualified consultants have demonstrated expertise in assessing and preserving ancient and culturally significant trees, combining traditional techniques with modern conservation science.
What woodland management services do you offer?
Our woodland management includes habitat assessment, access path creation, and biodiversity enhancement schemes. We develop long-term conservation plans that balance ecological requirements with landowner objectives through sustainable timber utilisation and landscape design.

Report
Thanks to Aran for sending Dan and Owen to carry out the work reducing the crown of a mighty beech tree. The work was very professionally and skilfully done. The overall effect was sympathetic to the tree such that, had you not known it beforehand, you would not have really noticed! The clearing up was superb! The garden actually looked tidier afterwards than when they arrived! 🙂🙂🙂
