Mr & Mrs Comrie originally worked with pigs at Houston. However as a result of the UK joining the common market with the good possibility of pig prices falling, as a result they decided to diversify. Having show jumped for over 20 years they decided to start a Riding School and become full time teachers.
By the end of the first week we had over 20 pupils and by mid December we bought 3 more ponies. We have extended and expanded from there and now have 54 equines (ponies & horses). We now teach every day of the week with a lighter work day on Thursdays. Houston is approved by the ABRS. We regularly teach clients from the Lothians, the Borders, Edinburgh, Glasgow & Lanarkshire.

It also includes the Registration Form that should be completed and returned to Houston, after confirmation that a place has been reserved for you.

Indoor Riding School (20m x 40m) Floodlit Outdoor Sand Arena Horses & Ponies to suit all standards of rider. Outdoor Jumping Courses A porta-cabin selling light refreshments & a small range of Equestrian equipment & riding wear.

If you do not bring a form with you one will be provided when you arrive. Cancellation Policy Cancellations must be made a minimum of 48 hours prior to the lesson start time otherwise no refund will be given. Group Lessons 1/2 hour group lessons are for adults and children to teach them the basics i.e. how to walk, halt, trot and direct their horse/pony.

Although all our horses are well used to people, it is worth noting that despite their size, horses are quite nervous animals and sometimes react unpredictably to sudden movements or noises.General Conduct The following guidelines will help you to stay safe when visiting the SCHOOL. DO NOT enter any of the stables or stalls unless you are accompanied by a member of staff unless you have been given permission to collect your horse for a lesson.
