Our Marina base is the only canal boat holiday hire company located at the Northern end of the canal nestled in the foothills of Penyfan in the Brecon Beacons National Park.

Cambrian Cruisers was established in 1988 by Ruth and Peter Griffiths. I am Jonathan their younger son and from the very beginning, at the age of twelve I used to help out a lot and was very keen to show off my canal boat handling skills, sometimes with embarrassing consequences! Twenty years on I have now taken over this Brecon canal boat hire business and run it with my wife Camilla and have lots of 'help' from our 3 young children.

We are incredibly proud to say that all our hire boats are built here at Cambrian Cruisers. We are committed to the whole process, from the initial design, layout and dimensions, negotiating the delivery of the hull, to the finer details such as choice of splashbacks and upholstery. We take great care, many hours of deliberating, channelling ideas and learning from our mistakes.

The pace of your Brecon canal holiday in Wales is entirely up to you. You can walk to the village for morning papers and set off after breakfast, or move off through the early morning mist with a bacon sandwich and take in a few locks before a pint and lunch in a canal side pub garden.
