A family run Free House offering a warm and welcoming atmosphere for visitors of all ages. We are situated in a beautiful rural setting only one and a half miles outside the market town of Northallerton. We offer great service and traditional and continental food cooked to order, our bar is well stocked and we pride ourselves on our traditional hand pulled ales.

The Pub

We are a family friendly Pub in a beautiful rural setting with well established enclosed garden to the rear, encompassing a decking area and patio, this area provides alfresco eating when the weather permits, or you can just enjoy a drink and relax maybe watching the sun go down. If the weather turns to a chill, you can make the most of our cosy atmosphere inside with our log burning stoves, snug and not forgetting our usual dining areas.

We are very forward thinking and our main aim is to make your visit enjoyable, we have in the past worked for many large companies running pubs and restaurants. We decided that the best way forward for our family was to go it alone and have our own pub. We have been at The Fox & Hounds since 2000 and we are always striving to move the business forward.

We have a very loyal team working for us some of them have been with us from the very beginning, helping to build the business and create the warm and friendly atmosphere. The front of house team and kitchen staff work very hard to make your visit an enjoyable one.
Our team includes our Manageress Anne who has worked with us for over 30 years, she deals with the day to day running of our busy pub and also has a lot of input into moving us forward and keeping our standards high.Our Head Chef Mark who has also worked with us for over 25 years, is responsible for the running of the Kitchen, the high standard of food that we serve, along with his flare for menu planning.
