Businesses lost in the blaze included a pizza shop, a hairdressers, an Indian restaurant, a pharmacy, a fish & chip shop and, of course, the Chinese takeaway. All these businesses were much loved by the people of Eaglescliffe, but lamented most of all was the loss of the Chinese takeaway.
