Bridges

Conventional Bridges: The teeth involved in the bridge are prepared in the same way as if they were to be crowned. Can be placed in areas of moderate biting forces, in some cases a considerable amount of tooth tissue may need to be removed. At Eastcote Dentist we believe that in nearly all cases where a missing tooth requires replacement, an implant is the best possible option.
Crown

If there is little tooth tissue remaining above the gum or a heavily filled tooth has become damaged, a crown maybe necessary. A crown can be placed after the tooth has been prepared by shaving of a layer all around creating the required space. Like inlays they usually require 2 appointments, (unless Advanced Cerec crowns are being used, which only require 1 appointment).

At Eastcote Dentist we consider tooth extraction to be a last resort, and do the maximum to maintain your oral health. Unfortunately, at times the prognosis is too poor to let the tooth remain. Wisdom teeth problems usually occur when they erupt into an area which cannot fully accommodate them, (impaction).
