Simon Hadfield
Having worked in many areas of contemporary motorsport from Formula Ford to Formula One, Simon began racing his own cars starting with a Lotus Elan, thus racing and business developed alongside one another. With success on the track came clients wishing to have their cars prepared to the same level.

From the first employee in 1982 to employing 10 full time staff today, the team became a constant sight in paddocks all over England. With the explosion in Historic Racing throughout the 1980's the company was well placed to expand and began racing in Europe. From the very beginning to where we are today, the company has gained success in almost every area of Historic Racing.

Report
The Lola T330 was the first purpose built Formula 5000 machine made by the Huntingdon marque, making vast improvements from its predecessor the T300. It also signalled the beginning of Lola's dominance of the category both in Europe and in the U.S. With its monocoque design, it proved to be lighter and stiffer than the T300, and had a lower centre of gravity as well as superior aerodynamics utilising a more effective wing and sleeker lines.
Fabrication
Report
One of our four workshops is dedicated solely to fabrication. Whether it be a regular space frame Formula Ford chassis, monocoque construction of a Formula One car, suspension components or even bespoke parts we are able to produce the highest quality finish.

Starting with Simon in 1981, using his experience as a fabricator for Formula One teams Merzario and ATS, to employing 3 full-time fabricators today - fabrication has become a major key to our success since the beginning.
Restoration
Report
Our restoration side of the company has been operating since day one. Working alongside our purpose built fabrication workshop, we can offer you many different levels of the restoration process. Whether you require damage repair to a particular area of your race car, or a full strip down and rebuild, we are able to complete either - or anything in-between - to the same exemplary standard.
Preparation
Report
At Simon Hadfield Motorsport Ltd we consider set-up to be a fundamental part of a race car's success, not only does it allow the car to perform to its optimum level but it also allows the driver to interact with it confidently.

As part of our race preparation, your car will undergo a thorough inspection of all mechanical components, safety components will be checked in correspondence with regulations, and a once over on the cars set-up will be carried out before it is ready for either collection from our workshops or delivery to its next meeting.
Driver Tuition
Report
Simon began his driving career in 1979 with Karting, albeit very low key - using a drum brake Barlotti to enter the 210 class, proving to be quick in the wet but not quite so when it was dry! From here on he built on his mechanical knowledge allowing him to understand what makes a car behave in a particular way.
