If you are at all interested in the Roman occupation of Scotland this is an essential place to visit. A well informed volunteer introduced our small group to the exhibition and the video presentation. This is written and narrated by Alistair Moffat. It is a super introduction to the subject of the museum and worth watching, especially if, like me, you are not an expert. The rest of the exhibition is a startling display of just how much evidence survives and a tantalising glimpse of how much must remain to be discovered just a few feet beneath the soil nearby at Trimontium.

We came across this museum while visiting Melrose. It is well worth the visit. We found it very interesting and were surprised to find the Romans settled so far up in Scotland. The staff and volunteers were very knowledgeable.
