Carter Electrical is a small family business with well over 25 years experience in the Electrical Industry. Originally working as a sole trader, Mick Carter's sons Jon & Matt joined him and Carter Electrical Installation was established in 2008, based in central Reading. We are accredited by the NICEIC who inspect us annually to ensure we meet strict guidelines for installations.
Over the years, the business has grown and we have branched out into new areas (for example Solar PV and electric vehicle charging) and embraced new technology (for example Smart products for security, lighting and heating as well as low energy technology such as LED lighting). We now have a great team of friendly electricians and also sponsor apprentices through our close working relationship with Bracknell & Wokingham College.

We have a broad scope of knowledge and skills in the Domestic, Commercial and Industrial sectors. We have recently achieved MCS accreditation through the NICEIC. We are proud to install both Zappi and Rolec Electric Vehicle (EV) chargers, which are eligible for the OLEV grant (currently 350) and are compatible with ALL Electric Vehicles.

We are proud to work with some of the big names in new build projects, such as Bewley Homes, McCarthy & Stone and Weston Homes. We can of course cover all aspects of your project, from lighting/electrical design, door entry systems, fire & emergency lighting systems, through first and second fix to certification and snagging.

Landlords' inspection although it's not as enforced as annual gas appliance services for tenanted homes, it is recommended that the electrics are tested every 5 years or at change of tenant. Many insurance companies will insist on this. Buying or selling your home. We cover central Reading and the rest of Berkshire, South Oxfordshire and North Hampshire.
Solar PV
Report
We've been installing Solar PV systems in the Thames Valley since 2010. Although many installers have ceased trading as the Feed in Tariff has been scrapped, we're still installing and servicing systems. If you're interested, we can usually provide an initial quote and illustration without even visiting your home.
