I have always wanted to work with animals having grown up surrounded by pets and working as a dog sitter and walker during my time at school. Following my passion for animals I completed my A Levels and went to university to study Zoology. During my time at university I studied modules such as Animal Behaviour and Welfare, Anatomy and Physiology, and Conservation.
Since graduating in 2017 I have worked in animal care spending a year working at a college supervising students studying Animal Care and looking after a variety of animals including exotic animals, livestock and mammals. I started at Hydegate in 2018 as an Animal Care Supervisor and have worked my way up.

Purpose designed, our super clean and comfortable apartments are worlds away from traditional kennels. Glass fronts, uPVC walls, and acoustic ceilings give dogs a quieter environment, an unobstructed outlook and a familiar home-like feel. Climate control at a constant 19 degrees year round, combined with soft and hygienic veterinary bedding and right size beds keep dogs very cosy, and anti-slip flooring gives them complete security underfoot.

Our luxurious cattery was purpose-designed and constructed in consultation with a leading feline behaviourist and the RSPCA. Kept at a constant 19 degrees for optimum comfort, the indoor bedrooms contain clean, cosy beds and have their own secure outside run with countryside views, which can be freely accessed all day.

Professional dog grooming for resident and non-resident dogs is available on-site with our fully trained groomers, Hannah and Sophie. We provide extensive grooming services for all breeds of dogs - whether they are staying with us or not. Our experienced groomers will make sure that your dog is not only expertly groomed but also thoroughly enjoys the experience.

All dogs and cats must be fully vaccinated before their stay. For puppies or out of date boosters, this includes both lots of vaccinations. All initial vaccinations or restarted courses must be completed at least 10 days before your pet's stay. Dogs must be up to date with distemper, hepatitis, parvovirus, parainfluenza and leptospirosis vaccinations (covered in the normal annual boosters).
