Chelmsford Equestrian Centre
We're so lucky to have a great team in the riding centre and livery yard, delivering the service you expect and deserve. I have worked full time at CEC for 10 years and am yard manager, responsible for the Riding School & Livery. I have been riding since I was 9 years old and currently have 2 horses.

I have achieved my BHS Stage 4 care. Having worked at CEC a number of years ago, as a working student. Kalie has now returned as a full-time member of staff, mainly working on the livery yard. She has been riding since she was 11 years old and has her BHS Stage 1 & 2 and her Riding and Road Safety.
Services
The Centre
Report
Chelmsford's own equestrian centre has been under new management since 2012 and has undergone major upgrades and development. The Centre was acquired by new owners in Spring 2012 and has been undergoing a number of exciting investments to improve the facilities. Immediately noticeable is the new reception and parking area, the new Waxtrack surface in the large indoor arena and the 6000 metres of new fencing around the fields.
Riding school
Report
The assessments our staff have had to undergo along with ongoing training means they've earned their stripes. Chosen for their temprement and ability, we have horses and ponies to suit every discipline and level or rider. We pride ourselves on the atmosphere, making sure you have the best time during your time with us.
Pony rides
Report
During the school holidays we offer Pony Rides most weekdays, for children from the age of 4 to 8 years. Weather permitting, the children will ride round the fields on their pony. We will ride in groups of no more than 5 children, and each child will be lead by their own individual leader, who will walk beside them on foot.
Prices
Report
We are confident that our prices are competitive with other Riding Schools in the Chelmsford or Essex area and that we offer our clients excellent value. Prices quoted are per rider. Our general maximum weight limit for beginner and returning riders is 12.5 stone; however this does vary from time. If you are a new client please check our current maximum weight limits at the time of booking.
Horse and pony loan scheme
Report
Being a part of Chelmsford Equestrian Centre's Loan-A-Pony scheme is extremely rewarding for children who are interested in riding and horse care. The CEC pony loaning scheme is aimed at kids who love horses and enjoy being around and working with horses on a regular basis.

Pony loaners not only have access to a horse they can call their own, they also get the opportunity to work in a supervised way on the yard alongside our staff to further increase their knowledge of equestrianism.Pony loaners can have fun, socialise with like-minded children and learn the routine, skills and responsibilities of keeping a horse.
