Founded by Angela Kirkham and Jennie Henry, our school combines over a century of collective teaching experience, offering tailored programs for individuals with diverse needs, including those with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). Our inclusive approach ensures every student receives personalized attention, with a curriculum designed to build confidence, discipline, and creativity. Dance Classes
We offer inclusive dance classes for all ages and abilities, including ballet, jazz, tap, and contemporary. Our programs cater to individuals with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), Parkinsons, and limited mobility. Students develop technical skills, creativity, and confidence in a supportive environment.
Drama Workshops
Our drama workshops focus on acting, voice production, and stagecraft. Designed for children and adults, these sessions build communication skills, self-expression, and teamwork. Participants engage in collaborative projects and performances, fostering artistic growth and emotional resilience.
Singing Lessons
Singing lessons cover classical and contemporary techniques, tailored to individual goals. Students receive personalized instruction in breath control, pitch, and performance. Lessons are available for all skill levels, from beginners to advanced performers preparing for exams or auditions.
Community Dance Programs

Studio Hire
Our three sprung-floor studios are available for hire for rehearsals, workshops, and community events. Studio 1 accommodates up to 100 people, Studio 2 up to 50, and Studio 3 for smaller groups. Facilities include kitchen access, seating, and tables for versatile use.

Both our girls have attended Kirkham Henry since they were 4 and 3 yrs old,they both love it. The teachers are friendly and approachable. During Lockdown they have provided a lifeline to many young children and young adults who needed a bit of normality in their lives with their zoom classes. I would highly recommend as dance studio.

My daughter has been attending dance classes here since she was nearly 3 starting with the preschool classes and has made lots of good friends over the years. The teachers are professional and supportive and ensure that the classes are always fun.

My 6 year old daughter has been attending Kirkham Henry since she was a toddler and loves it so much. Staff are all friendly and helpful and all the children seem to get along like a family. We have made friends for life I'm sure!

My daughters have attended Kirkham Henry from the age of 3. They have been fortunate to benefit from the excellent teaching and opportunities that Kirkham Henry has provided. With a wide variety of classes on offer, there is something for everyone.

My 2 daughters aged 5 and 12 attend Kirkham Henry performing arts and both love it! My eldest has been attending since the age of 3 and has never looked back! The dance school is professional yet fun and provides a wide range of lessons, the teachers are all
very experienced which shows in the high exam results and amazing performances during showcases etc! I couldnt recommend the school enough!

Kirkham Henry is a fabulous performing arts school. Having had associations with it before I became a parent I knew it was the place I would be most happy sending my daughter. She attended another dance school local to us but i decided it wasnt right for us and we now travel from York to attend classes. All the teachers genuinely care about every child and the KH Family is very special.
